Description (Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, Vol. 1)

Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood is an animated series with live-action interstitials. Fred Rogers' original Neighborhood of Make Believe is recreated in vibrant color and texture; his signature puppet Daniel Striped Tiger is transformed into a curious and playful 4-year-old joined by his friends O the Owl, Prince Wednesday, Katerina Kittycat and Miss Elaina. The series curriculum is school-readiness and social-emotional learning, and each preschool themed episode offers a musical strategy for children and parents to use together.

The music is very catchy. My daughter started dancing when she heard the intro music. I hope they make more of this show. It's worth buying. There's a lot of things for toddlers can learn in this show.

There aren't a lot of shows for children these days that are as well written as this show is. The content is intentional and thoughtful, with careful attention to issues that children really go through. High respect is paid to the intentions of the original show, Mr. Roger's Neighborhood. In fact, this cartoon trails off of that old show, taking place in the "land of make-believe." What used to be the main puppets are now the parents in this cartoon, with their children now being the stars (basically all the puppets grew up, had families, and now their offspring are starring in this cartoon!) This series teaches social-emotional skills, which is huge for school and life readiness. From sharing, to trying new foods, to dealing with frustrations/sadness, this show covers so many important topics. As a mother, I watch this show with my children, and it's entertaining enough for adults (unlike other kid's shows that are really only for kids). This show really uses music wisely and throughout. My 3 year old loves it, and has memorized all the jingles. We actually sing it throughout our day as she remembers to "find a way to play" with her little sister, or to "try new foods because they might taste good," or even to "take a deep breath and count to four" when she is feeling angry. You could even buy the CDs as well! Two thumbs up!!!
  • The best!

High quality show. Teaches wonderful lessons with a song each show. My 2 year olds sing all the songs and have learned so many positive things from this show. It is by far their favorite show. And as a parent you can know thy are learning good things. We love Daniel Tiger! Ugga Mugga!

Beautifully honors Mr. Rogers' legacy. He was irreplaceable, but this show carries those same social-emotional themes forward with kid- and parent-friendly stories and songs. It's just perfect.
  • Absolutely wonderful! iTunes, please add more episodes!

My 3 year old daughter is spellbound by Daniel Tiger! I cannot tell if it is the music throughout the episode, the fact that the characters seem to be talking TO her (actually facing her as they talk and elicit answers from their questions), or the fact that is made by the same creator of Super Why! (her first absolutely favorite show). It's also wonderful that the show targets social and emotional development. This show has actually helped my socially awkward child begin to be able to verbalize her emotions and begin to figure out interacting with peers. For me and my wife, it is a wonderful piece of nostalgia to see familiar characters and locations from the Land of Make Believe that we enjoyed long ago with Mister Rogers. My only wish is for iTunes to get more episodes online. We need the Going To The Potty episode on endless loop around here!

My great grandson is staying with me after nap time while parents work. I must keep him entertained. He is two and a half . The first time I played this for him, he watched, standing up for forty five minutes. When his mom was talking on the phone and he heard the name Daniel spoken, he ran to her and repeated the name Daniel over and over. I bought him a hoody sweater in red like Daniel wears and also a pillow case with the friends on the front. I am sure he will be delighted. He really loves this show. This site only said two stars when I hit five. Maybe now that I did it over it will change . I hope so. This is a five star show.
